Day 1: Flight to Kuna, Idaho
Who flies during a pandemic? We do! Who needs to get the hell out of California when there are 300+ active fires in our state? We do!
We got to the airport at 330pm and it was empty. Security check point; empty! One of the perks to flying during a pandemic; no one else is. Is that a sign? Hmm, perhaps, but here we go. Our flight was at 1/2 capacity. Everyone on Alaskan Air was super friendly. Everything looked and smelled extra clean (which I feel it should always be anyway, even if we’re not in a germ pandemic), go ahead – dump all those chemicals into a locked up vessel, we are good to go!! I’ve got the “hospital grade hepa filter” recycled air vent blasting above my head. Will this shower me with germs, or swoosh germs away? I guess we will find out! It makes me feel better though to have it blasting. This isn’t our first flight during the pandemic, we flew to Oregon a few months ago as a trial run, and everything went ok that time, so fingers crossed, nostrils shut, masks on…And breathe….sort of…
First stop, Kuna Idaho to pop in on some friends Anna and Bob that just moved there from San Jose, California. This will be the starting point of my 50th Birthday National Parks Road Trip! When you can’t use your International Passport for your birthday (9 months of planning the ultimate Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Iceland Hiking Extravaganza Trip out the window), you use the next best thing; your National Parks Passport (thank you for this sister Kelly)! Let’s get some stamps in this bad boy!!
Ready, Set, Go….

Loving this!!! Keep trucking, keep writing!!
