Day 2: Kuna, Idaho

Day 2: Kuna, Idaho

Good Morning Idaho! Today is Bob’s Birthday! Happy Birthday Bob!!

We had a lovely day exploring pieces of Idaho today with Anna and Bob. They have a lovely home and were amazing hosts; they better be careful, we might come back and never leave, haha!

We went on the “Whoop Um Up” trail in the Boise National Forest, that took us through an old burn area and up to a beautiful vista. Stunning views from up there. This was hike 68 of my 100 Hike Challenge (see LateLifeHikerWife on Instagram for more details).

We then winded back down and headed into the small town of Idaho City. We enjoyed lunch at Trudy’s Kitchen and had an amazing piece of peach pie. Yum! We took a short stroll around the ghost town, and then headed back into Boise. It was nice to drive around the see the college town bustling with students and people out and about.

It doesn’t feel like a pandemic here. People going on about their normal life. Not many masked up, even in the grocery stores. I will be honest, coming from California where everyone is masked up, I felt a little weird and slightly uneasy. But it was also nice to feel “normal” again too. Don’t worry, we have our arsenal of hand sanitizer, Lysol, wipes and masks at the ready.

We ended the evening with a delicious hummus tasting (great varieties; carrot, avocado, pumpkin and chocolate) and great conversations with our friends. So grateful for our fabulous hosts! This Air BnB gets 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Headed to bed for an early rise and onto our next destination. Until tomorrow…
